Previous user feedback indicated that the file dowloading process from StratusVue solutions (BidVue and PlansandSpecs) was cumbersome and could be frustrating. This primarily came from the shopping cart technology that was being used to manage the downloads. We listened, and roughly a year ago we stopped charging users for most file downloads due to the inconvenience of the process.
But the download process was still not as efficient as it should have been.
Therefore, we will soon be implementing a more industry-standard subscription-based process for downloading files from StratusVue. The primary goal is to make it much faster and simpler for users to get the documents they need.
Users will first notice that the shopping cart will no longer be used to download files. This will make the process much quicker, and will eliminate many of the "clicks" that were required before. Initially we are providing this change at no charge to all users so that everyone can experience how easy it is and the benefits of multiple file downloads from the system. All users will have a full subscription for unlimited downloads during this period.
(Note: the shopping cart will still be used for ordering prints. This change is only for downloading digital files.)
Towards the end of April we will implement the full subcriptions functionality. At that point, users will have several different low-cost options for download subscriptions available. More details on the pricing for these subscriptions will be provided as the date of implementation approaches. It is important to note that these changes will improve the user experience, and will also allow StratusVue to provide an even higher level of service to everyone in the system.
To accomodate the switch to subscriptions and give our users more control over their user profiles in the StratusVue System, this past weekend we made some important changes to this functionality. The information shown in the window below summarizes the benefits of these changes, and shows where users can find the new user profile features:
A number of other minor updates were made last weekend as well, including the addition of a "BidVue" icon in the organizational tree that will reduce clicks by taking users directly to the bid packages for that project.
We are excited about these changes, and we look forward to continuing to improve the experience for all StratusVue users. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions about these changes please do not hesitate to contact us.
